Design Your Park at Ernest Road

Since spring 2024, Southside ReLeaf has been developing a new city park along Ernest Road in partnership with Groundwork RVA and Restoration Environmental Services (RES).

• We hosted 11 volunteer workdays and cleared walking trails through the space

• A herd of sheep from RVA Goats and Honey ate their way through invasive ivy, and additional invasive plants were removed by volunteers

• We held two community walk-throughs to show neighbors the new park and gather feedback on desired amenities.

Now it’s time to help us design YOUR park!

Join us on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Hardee’s (4801 Rte 1) to discuss the new park’s design. Drop in any time between 5 pm and 7 pm. We’ll provide dinner!

If you’d prefer to give your feedback digitally, please complete our park design survey by January 16. Your feedback will help our team determine what is planted and how those plantings are arranged in the space. No plant expertise is required!
