Oak Grove Neighborhood Tree Planting

  • Oak Grove Neighborhood 2206 Gordon Avenue Richmond, VA, 23224 United States (map)

Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Virginia Interfaith Power & Light for a tree planting in the Oak Grove neighborhood on November 9!

What?

Volunteers will work together to plant a variety of medium-sized trees. Most trees will be in 7–15-gallon pots, so they are easy for volunteers to move. The trees will cool our city, filter air and water pollution, stabilize soil to reduce erosion and reduce carbon emissions.

When?

Saturday, November 9 from 9 am - 12:30 pm. The rain date for this planting is November 10, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. A planting demonstration will start at 9:05 am.

Where?

2206 Gordon Ave, Richmond, VA 23224

What should I bring?

No prior experience is necessary! All tools will be provided, as well as gloves and instructions needed for a successful planting. Wear weather-appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes, and bring your own water bottle. Please register in advance so we can bring the appropriate number of tools.

Do I need to sign up?

Yes! Please sign-up using the button below. You must sign up to volunteer by November 8. If you have any questions, please contact Ann Jurczyk via email at ajurczyk@cbf.org or by phone at 804-258-1522.
