Join Southside ReLeaf and the Riverine Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists at Reedy Creek to participate in the City Nature Challenge! The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities across the globe. Cities are in a friendly contest with each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people.
What?
Community members are invited to join for a pleasant walk at Reedy Creek. While we walk, we’ll use the iNaturalist app on our phones to document the biodiversity we encounter.
When?
Thursday, April 24 from 9 - 9:45 am.
Where?
We’ll start our walk from 6102 Lamar Drive. Street parking will be available. Ideally, park by the median of the Beaufont Court loop or along Lamar Drive and walk over.
What should I bring?
Be sure to wear sturdy closed toed shoes/boots that you’re okay getting muddy. Please bring a reusable water bottle. No special skills are necessary to participate, but if you have a smartphone, please bring it.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes! Please sign up using CFengage. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa at lisa@southsidereleaf.org.
